Refund Policy

Trace is a tool that can modify data. We want you to try it without pressure – and if it's not the right fit, to be able to back out easily.
1) 14-day refund
14-day money-back guarantee
You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase.
- The period starts at the time of purchase (order confirmation).
- We typically refund the full purchase price to the original payment method.
- Depending on the payment provider, refunds may take a few days to appear.
2) How to request a refund
Please email [email protected] with:
- Order ID / order number (from your purchase confirmation)
- Email address used for the purchase (if different)
- Optional: 1–2 sentences on why it wasn't the right fit (voluntary; helps us improve Trace)
If your payment provider offers a customer portal (“My Orders”), you may also be able to request the refund there – if available.
3) License deactivation on refund
When a refund is granted, the corresponding license will be deactivated where technically possible. This is necessary to prevent abuse.
4) Abuse and exceptions
We reserve the right to refuse refunds if there is reasonable suspicion of abuse, e.g.:
- repeated buy/refund cycles in a short time,
- obviously fraudulent use,
- bypassing or tampering with licensing.
5) Demo version
We provide a demo version so you can evaluate the UI/UX, analysis views, and explanations.
Disabled in the demo (Trace app)
The demo is intentionally designed so it can't be used as a free cleanup tool in the main app:
- “Move to Quarantine”
- “Delete…” / permanent delete actions
- Undo/Restore
- System-wide actions (e.g. delete snapshots / remove background items)
- Export/automation (if available)
Exception: TraceAgent (login item) is free to use in the demo and can help you remove apps you already moved to the Trash.
The demo is primarily meant to show how Trace analyzes and explains. If you want to use the actual removal features, you'll need the full version.
6) Statutory rights
Mandatory statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
